Bathroom cleaning order
Prepare and ventilate first. Remove loose dirt, clean the mirror and sink, then the shower or tub. Use dedicated tools for the toilet and finish with the floor. Do not carry a toilet cloth back to a cleaner surface. Check product compatibility before using acidic descalers or abrasive cleaners on stone, grout, coatings and fixtures.
Daily reset versus a deeper clean
A brief reset can cover visible spills, used towels, rubbish and missing soap or paper. A deeper clean also tackles shower buildup, fixture bases, corners and other areas in the room scope. Choose frequency from actual use and conditions rather than treating every task as universally daily.
Do I have to disinfect every surface?
Cleaning and disinfecting are different steps. Choose disinfection based on the setting, product label, local guidance and risks such as illness. Do not assume that a cleaner is also a disinfectant or that spraying and immediately wiping provides the required contact time.
What if there is a leak or persistent mould?
Record the location and required owner action. Persistent mould can indicate a moisture problem that routine wiping does not solve. Do not mark unresolved maintenance or safety problems as resolved merely because the room has been cleaned.
Can I print this checklist?
Yes. Print / Save PDF opens the browser print dialog. The print layout contains the current room record, task statuses, supply quantities and issues. Review the preview before printing. Download handoff TXT is editable plain text, not a Word document or Excel workbook.

Cleaning product safety
Cleaning removes dirt and impurities; disinfecting uses chemicals to kill remaining germs. Follow the product label for the intended surface, dilution, protective equipment, ventilation and contact time. Clean visible dirt before disinfecting. Keep the surface wet for the label’s contact time and rinse when instructed.
Never mix bleach or any disinfectant with other cleaners or disinfectants. In particular, do not combine bleach with toilet cleaner, descaler, vinegar or ammonia products. If products are accidentally mixed or strong fumes develop, stop, move away to fresh air and contact local poison or emergency services as appropriate. Do not try to neutralize the mixture.
Reference: CDC guidance on cleaning and disinfecting with bleach, checked 10 September 2026. Product labels and local requirements still apply. This checklist does not prescribe a universal disinfectant mixture or contact time.
